Part Nine — you’re really just trying to hold yourself together

When 2024 pulled up to the gate and rang the doorbell, I answered by opening the book “The Untethered Soul” by Michael A. Singer.

Mr. Singer doesn’t waste any time and begins with the not-so-simple task of awakening consciousness. I’m still in chapter one…..yes, still.

In an effort to share my journey, learn about and have faith in myself, I’m sharing my journal entries here. I respect that your life experiences and soul journeys may look very different from mine and ask only that you respect my soul journey as well.

Lesson Nine: In the name of attempting to hold the world together, you’re really just trying to hold yourself together.

Mr. Singer’s prompt: When you awaken in the morning, and when you are going to sleep, notice any chatter you have about keeping situations in control or fixing them. Once you notice, then relax, breathe, and begin to focus on the part of you that is simply aware of the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing.

Write about these thoughts and what it was like to objectively notice them. Was your mind planning? Problem-solving…
